Warranty

We care about your Installation as much as you do. So we’re committed to helping you take care of it.

From warranty coverage to many other ways, we ensure your maximum functionality & performance.

We’re with you to ensure your outdoor space brings many memorable occasions, maximum return on your investment and a journey you’ll enjoy.

You may elect to extend your existing Skymax Warranty for up to 10 years, so you can look forward to many years of stress-free outdoor entraining pleasure from your Skymax systems.

Your ability to extend your Skymax warranty is available on completion of the Skymax installation. Each Warranty extension is available for 12 or 24 month terms (to a maximum of 10 years).

The Benefits of the Skymax Warranty (and Extended Warranty):

  • Coverage for up to 1O years*
  • Optional duration: 12 or 24 months
  • No usage/operation limit within the warranty period
  • All component repairs are covered, including parts and labour (excluding stated wear and tear items)
  • Only Skymax original parts are used
  • The Warranty and the ability to extend the Warranty within the age and condition

*Any Extended Warranty is not transferable to new owners.

Importantly, any Skymax Approved Warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) in particular your “consumer guarantee” rights. These rights are not excluded, restricted or modified by this warranty.

The following wear & tear components or units of the Skymax system are excluded from Extended Warranty claims:

  • Electrical components including remotes, switches, receivers & sensors all have a standard 3 Year Warranty.
  • Waterproofing sealants and silicone products all have a standard 3 Year Warranty.
  • Visual defects, including powder coated profiles and parts fading or wearing all have a standard 5 Year Warranty.

As Skymax System ages, it might undergo visual and operational changes without affecting its functionality (e.g. fading powder coat on the aluminium). Visual and operational concerns and the wear and tear items listed above are excluded from the Warranty extension and should be attended to during normal scheduled Servicing and Maintenance.

Provided your system passes the technical inspection, extending your warranty is easy. Simply contact your Skymax Service Consultant. If you have recently had your Skymax System serviced your Service Consultant may even be able to extend your warranty over the phone without the need for an additional inspection.

If your Warranty has expired, provided the ownership of the property has not changed, the policy can also be extended once the system has passed the technical inspection and any faults detected repaired by Skymax.

If you have any questions about the Skymax Warranty, your Skymax Consultant will be happy to answer them at your convenience and is looking forward to your call!

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Simply follow 3 important steps:

  1. Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge by gently rubbing.
  2. Clean by gently rubbing the surface with a soft brush (non-abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, e.g. pH-neutral liquid hand or dish-washing detergent in warm water to remove dust, salt and other deposits. For stubborn stains use only recommended solvents on the affected area, e.g. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or methylated spirits and rinse off with clean water. Do not use other aggressive solvents.
  3. Rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.

Please Note: For our Do’s & Don’ts of protecting your powder coated louvres refer to our operations manual.

Cleaning gutters is an important maintenance requirement, if gutters hold debris this may bind within the gutters and cause damage, ensure no harsh rubbing or scraping occurs cleaning out the gutters, if not completed carefully you may damage the silicon waterproofing on the corner joints, at the rear of the gutters and re-sealing maybe required if this occurs during the cleaning out of the gutters.

The frequency of recommended cleaning will vary depending on:

  • The environment – if it is dry, has minor condensation, has high moisture or has significant contamination (interior); or a city, rural, industrial or coastal environment (exterior)
  • The conditions - if it is a general or moderate condition (interior) or a mild, severe or tropical condition (exterior);

Some of the influencing factors that can impact the life of the powder coating include:

  • Ultraviolet light levels
  • Levels of atmospheric pollution including salts, dirt, grime that can all accumulate over time
  • Winds carrying airborne debris that can cause erosive wear of the coating e.g. sand causing abrasion
  • Change in environmental circumstances e.g. if rural became industrial
  • Microclimates eg. geothermal, alkaline or acidic
  • It is recommended in environments with low salt, low pollutant and urban areas cleaning should take place at a minimum of every twelve months.
  • In areas where salts, pollutants and high corrosivity levels are prevalent, e.g. beachfront houses or industrial areas, it is recommended a cleaning program should be carried out more frequently at a minimum of every six months.
  • Sheltered areas can have a higher risk of coating degradation as wind-blown salt and other debris or pollutants may adhere to the surface and not be removed when it rains. These areas may require more frequent cleaning.
  • Use the following table to identify the recommended minimum cleaning schedule for your project. The table references AS4312 and ISO12944 Atmospheric corrosivity zones in Australia to define the environmental conditions.
